
According to the blog posting, the paper bags were treated with a non-toxic fire retardant and achieved a Class A fire rating.
When I first saw the photos for the interior of the OWEN Boutique store, I was amazed. Created by an architecture firm called Tacklebox, they designed and hand-built the boutique’s surface from floor to ceiling with 25,000 brown paper bags to replicate a honeycomb-like structure. Tacklebox reclaims common, ordinary, or overlooked materials and use them in an extraordinary way to foster a sense of timelessness.
